A resolution was passed unanimously urging local vendors to cease the sale and marketing of all candy-flavored tobacco products and urging citizens not to purchase or use candy-flavored tobacco products.
"Special thanks to the Venice WareHouse SWAT and North Port Alliance on Substance Abuse Prevention who did a wonderful job of presenting comments and garnering support," Kisha Gaines, Sarasota County Health Department Tobacco Prevention Program Manager.
The resolution will be used to educate local tobacco vendors and parents, and to bring awareness across Sarasota County.
